This is referred to as the fundamental laws,rules,principles and regulations concerning and relating to how a community or a political society or organization is run or governed.
A constitution contains the rules,principles and regulations of any  political entity,or political community. Constitution contains the laws of the state. It is a document that helps to define the principle organs of the government which helps to determine the relationship between and among these organs. The constitution is the supreme law if a state which defines how a community or organization/association is administered or governed.
TYPES OF CONSTITUTION.
There are different types of constitution; these could be identified through their patterns or methods of application. However, four types of constitution could be established for the purposes of this course.
1. WRITTEN CONSTITUTION: this is a type of constitution whose laws,rules,regulations and fundamental principles concerning how a state is governed are contained and embodied in one single document. It is important to note that when the laws of a country us contained in one single document that constitution is called as written constitution. Countries with written constitution are; U.S.A,Nigeria, etc. One of the important advantages of written constitution is that the constitution cannot be easily changed or altered,also a prominent disadvantage of this constitution is that it is too rigid that amendment in times of emergency may not be possible.
2. UNWRITTEN CONSTITUTION: this is a type of constitution where all the laws,rules and principles concerning and relating to how a country or a state is governed are not contained or embodied in one single government. In unwritten constitution, it does not mean that the constitution are not written but they are not written down in a single document. Therefore the constitution is contained or written down in several document.Great Britain is one major country that is still practising this type of constitution. The prominent advantage of this constitution is that laed could be amended with ease in times of emergency. However, its disadvantage is that laws will continue to be amended at the slightest opportunity.
3.RIGID CONSTITUTION: this is a type of constitution where the laws,rules, regulations and principles concerning how a state  is governed cannot be easily amended or altered. The constitution is very strong and stand tall at all time. By this the constitution will be very difficult to be changed, altered or amended. All written constitutions .conversely, all rigid constitution must be written constitution.
4. FLEXIBLE CONSTITUTION: this is a type of constitution where all the laws, rules,regulation and principle concerning how a state is governed could be amended with ease. Flexible constitution in tells absence of rigidity as the laws under flexible constitution can be easily altered,amended or changed. All flexible constitution are unwritten constitution. Conversely,all unwritten constitution are flexible in their nature.
